DMA Catenary Wire Uplift Measurement (UPL)

The Catenary Wire Uplift Measurement sends an alarm message if specified uplift limits are exceeded.

Catenary Wire Uplift Measurement (UPL)

Description

The wire uplift is measured by a non-contact system, wayside mounted, working in both running directions.
The instrument goal is the measurement of the contact wire uplift, due to the pantograph vertical force. An excessive uplift is caused by a pantograph force that can let the stripes damage the catenary. Any uplift measurement exceeding the specified limit value triggers an alarm message.
